How the Exegeses Bible Came To Be

Back in the early 1970's, Herb Jahn (a diligent student of God's word in the original languages became burdened with the casual attitude that God's people had toward the Bible.  He was especially concerned about the inaccuracy of Christian teachers and modern Bible versions when translating different Hebrew and Greek terms.

In many of the popular translations and even in the 1611 King James translation, different Hebrew and Greek terms were translated the same and were said to mean the same thing.   Of course there are occasional similarities in different terms of God's Word, but he found that many times there were MAJOR differences in how the terms should be translated that he could not overlook.

So he decided to do something about it.  He then researched EVERY word in the Old and New Testaments to make sure they were accurate and translated according to their common usage.  That process took over 15 years to complete.

When the research was complete, he then ended up spending his life's savings to publish this work himself, since no Bible publisher would do it or do it right.  The result is now the most accurate and literal Bible in existence.

Thousands of Believers across the world have purchased and enjoyed this remarkable Bible translation and transliteration.  We thank the Lord for Herb Jahn and for his devotion to the Lord in bringing us this thoroughly accurate Bible for you and I to enjoy.

My Personal Story with The Exegeses Bible

My wife and I, since our salvation, have been students of Gods' wonderful Word.  One day, in our travels to a friends bookstore, as is our normal custom, we were scouring the bookshelves to find some rare gem that the Lord would use to bless our hungry hearts.

As I was nearing the end of my search for that special and unusual book that the Lord would bring across my path, I looked down on the bottom shelf and saw a copy of the original leather bound Exegeses Bible.  Not quite sure what I had found, my wife and I perused the pages quickly and realized this was truly a GOLD mine.  There happened to be 3 copies of this Bible left on the shelf, so I quickly asked the owner if he had any more of these Bibles.  He said, no, that was it.  He had just come across these few copies and wasn't sure if he would EVER sell them.

Well, once we began to read through this wonderful and unique Bible, we couldn't put it down.  We determined that this was one of the MOST unique BLESSINGS the Lord had ever brought across our path.

We soon contacted the author Herb Jahn, and ordered 2 cases of these wonderful Bibles which we would then share with others as we traveled around the country displaying our other great books at Home School Conventions.  Shortly thereafter we became his largest distributor selling hundreds of the leather bound Exegeses Bible before it went out of print.

Even today, over 15 years later, we still marvel and thank the Lord for what He brought across our path.  The Exegeses Bible has been truly a blessing to our whole family.  It is our preferred translation hands down.

The goal of this web site is to share just a small portion of the uniqueness and blessings of this wonderful and accurate translation.  May the Lord bless you as you seek Him and His Word every day!

So.... What Makes This Exegesis Bible So Unique?

The EXEGESES Parallel Bible is actually two Bibles in one.  In the left column of each page, you have the 1611 King James Version.  Within the text of the KJV, you have certain words that are italicized and bolded.

( You can see many of the ACTUAL pages from the Exegesis Bible below! )

The italicized word is the KJV (King James Version) word that Herb Jahn has identified as needing a more accurate and literal translation.  The bolded word that follows is Herb Jahns more literal and accurate replacement for that term.  His goal was to always choose the most accurate, literal and common translation and usage for that Hebrew or Greek term.

In the right column of each page of the Exegeses Parallel Bible, you will see a flowing word for word literal translation of the corresponding verse from the KJV.  This flowing yet literal text takes into account the italicized and bolded corrections of the KJV text across the page and blends them into a readable yet accurate text.  This is gives you the most literal translation of the text but in a very readable format.

Viewed side by side, you can compare the well known King James to the Exegeses Literal Text knowing you always have a literal translation at hand.   In the back of this Exegeses Bible, you will also find a lexicon (Greek and Hebrew dictionary) to define each word for you and subject summaries all number coded to Strong's Concordance, so you can easily research that term.

This Bible has 1946 total pages.

TOP Ten Reasons Why YOU Need The Exegeses Bible:

1.  Literal - Each term is translated according to it's common usage and meaning.

For example, click this link to see Prov. 3:6.  The KJV and most other translations read - "In all your ways acknowledge him..."  The word for "acknowledge" is yada, which is the common Hebrew word for "to know".  The Exegeses Bible translates "yada" according to it's common usage of the term which would be to "know" and reads as follows - "In all your ways know Him..."

Is there a difference between in all your ways "acknowledging God", vs. "in all your ways know Him"?   Many people "acknowledge" God, but very few "know" Him in all their ways!

2.  Accurate - Each Hebrew or Greek term translated accurately and precisely.

For example - Most Bibles do not make a distinction between the two greek words for love - agapao and phileo.  The clearest example that their is a big difference between these two terms is in John 21:15-17.  In this passage, Jesus asks Peter - "Simon Peter, lovest (agapao) thou me more than these?"

Peter then answers the Lord with the word phileo, not agapao.  The Exegeses interprets Peters response correctly - "Yes, Adonay (Lord), you know I befriend (phileo) you."

If there were no difference between these 2 terms, what would be the purpose of this conversation?

Why would Jesus keep pressing Peter about his love, if Peter was using the same term that Jesus was using?  The only way this passage can make sense is that two different terms for "love" are being used.

Jesus is talking about the true deep self giving love called agapao.  Peter knowing what Jesus is asking is replying back to Jesus, saying, Lord you know I'm a good friend.

3.  Specific - All the names and titles of God shown as they really are written.

(Example - Psalms 23:1 "Yah Veh Raah" = The eternal God, the one who tends or shepherds.)  Do you see how God actually presented himself thru His Name in this wonderful passage.

4.  Study Aides - The Exegeses Bible includes a Lexicon with the terms indexed to Strong's numbering system for easy tracking and further study.  Also includes an expanded section to define and contrast key terms.

5.  Transliterations - To transliterate means to transcribe a word from one alphabet to another.

For example in Romans 12:2 the word "Transformed" is transliterated in the Exegeses Bible as "metamorphosed" - from the Greek term metamorphoo.

6.  No Committees - Most translations are produced by a committee of translators (3-10) to give a "balanced" interpretation of God's word.  Unfortunately what happens in the translation process is "controversial" terms or concepts get taken out or watered down.  Herb Jahn was committed to one thing only, what did God actually say, regardless of the who's toes it stood on.

7.  Unique - See the richness of the Hebrew culture and language.

(Example:  Where the King James translates to "Make" a covenant, the Exegeses Bible translates the terms literally to "cut" a covenant, according to the Hebrew culture and language.  See the first time God "cuts a covenant" with Abram in Gen.15:18)

8.  Harmonious - See how the Hebrew Old Testament carries over to the New Testament in the terms used.

Remember, most of the NT writers were Jews.  For example, the name of "Jesus Christ" commonly translated in most Bibles, will read - "Yah Shua Messiah" in the Exegeses, like in John 1:17.

9.  Nuances - See the unique emphasis and language of the Greek NT, blurred by most translations.  In James 4:4, is there a difference between "being the enemy of God" or "seated - an enemy of Elohim."?

10. Original Language - See significant parts of speech that adhere to the original languages.

For example:  Gal.1:10 says - "For if I yet please humanity, I am never EVER the servant of Messiah."  Paul lays great emphasis here that most Bible translations miss!

Another example:  Where a original manuscript would say - "I rest you" most contemporary translations re-interpret that phrase to say "I shall give you rest", thus altering "rest" from a verb to a noun.  OT promises were spoken in the present tense, not the future tense like our Bibles show.  Ex. Gen 17:16 - KJV - "I will bless her", Exegeses - "I bless her."

God spoke his promises in the present tense because they were to be considered done.  If God said He would do it, it was as good as done!  There was never to be any doubt that what God said would ever come true.

NEWS FLASH

in PAPERBACK as a Three Volume Set!

See below for more details.

See Actual Pages from the Exegeses Bible (below):

Genesis 1 and the first 21 pages of the Exegeses Bible.

Job 1 - Notice how God identifies Satan's motivations concerning Job (Verse 8).

Psalm 23 - Notice how God gives us His Name in Verse 1.

John 3 -
What is the difference between "the Spirit puffing" and the "wind bloweth" in John 3:8?
What is the
difference between "believing" and "trusting" in John 3:16?

John 21-22 - See how Jesus makes a distinction between the two terms for love; (agape and phileo).   Agape love is true sacrificial love, but phileo means to befriend.  That's why Peter replies to Jesus question with a different term for "love".  (John 21:15-17)

Romans 12-13 - Notice the actual terms Paul uses in 12:6 ("thoroughly excelling") and in 12:8 ("hilarity").  Do they make a diffeence in how you now understand these passages?

Galatians 5 - See the 17 works of the flesh and notice the differences in some of the terms like:  pharmacy, rivalry, zeals, etc.

I Timothy 6 - Is there really a difference between the "love of money" and "befriending money".  (I Timothy 6:10)

I Peter 5 - Is there a difference between "resisting" and "opposing"?  Is there a difference between "God resisting the proud" and "God opposing the proud" in I Peter 5:5?

Matthew 24 - See what Jesus said about being saved in the last days, in verse 22.

Daniel 3 - See how Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego answered King Neduchadnezzar in verse 16.

So, did you see anything you like about this unique but accurate translation?

So, what can the Exegeses Bible Do For YOU?

  1. Additional CLARITY - See EXACTLY what God said and how He said it!
  2. More COMPREHENSION - Understand what God meant when He said it.
  3. Eliminate CONFUSION - For example- Look at the exact terminology God used about the head covering in I Cor.11:1-16.  There are 2 different greek terms which the Exegeses Bible correctly translates, which most others don't!  Seeing these 2 different terms eliminates confusion about this passage.
  4. Increase your COMMITTMENT to God - Every word for faith or belief is translated as trust.  Why? Whereas faith and belief imply a directing of the mind, the psyching up of the mental attributes, trust implies a TOTAL reliance of the being and is the abandonment of self into the care of another.  The Hebrew word for trust is rooted in the word for amen (it is done and completely trustworthy).  From a page of the Exegeses Lexicon on trust. "So trust by hearing and hearing by the rhema of Elohim." (Rom.10:17)
  5. Increased CONCENTRATION - Because this Exegeses Bible is so interesting to read and study, you will have a higher level of concentration when you read His Word.
  6. Extra COMPASSION - For God and others.  As we get to know God better, we cannot help but love Him and others more.
  7. CONCISE definitions of key words - The Exegeses Lexicon gives you an expanded definition of key root words and their derivatives so you can see what each term means.  See an example of the Exegeses Bible Lexicon.

So, order this wonderful Bible TODAY, that will do all this for you.  You won't regret it.  So many have found this Bible to be a HUGE blessing to their lives.
